Abstract
High performance motor drive systems place severe stresses on electrical and mechanical components in search of increased power density and efficiency by increasing operating speed. Electrical drives and controllers similarly need to increase in speed of operation in order to deliver high quality control and reduce losses while delivering the same or longer operating life. This PhD will focus on innovative methods to increase real-time embedded modelling of drives to improve the fidelity of control, speed of electrical switching and adding additional functionality, without incurring a cost increase on the driver or its controller.
