Heat, drought and fire: Risk from compound extreme weather and climate events
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Edinburgh
Department Name: Sch of Geosciences
Abstract
Climate change will lead to more hot weather and drought. Extremely warm and dry conditions can desiccate vegetation and lead to fire. How have such events unfolded in the past, can we successfully model them, and what does this mean for the future?
