Description This meeting helped to consolidate our collaboration on rice straw biofuels and biorefining and develop strategies for pursuing the work, eventually allowing additional funding from the Vietnam Ministry of Science and Technology and BBSRC to be obtained.
Exploitation Route The relationships built in this meeting may be useful for fostering further UK/Vietnam interactions.

Description This project consolidated the working relationship between several groups in the UK and Vietnam and was joint funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) in Vietnam. This eventually went on to underpin a successfula application for a Newton Rice project entitled "Developing rice resources for resilience to climate change and mitigation of carbon emissions", co-funed by MOST in Vietnam and PhilRice in the Philippines.
