John Innes Centre
Department Name: Crop Genetics
Abstract
Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.

Description | This award is in its second year and has , together with GCRF funding, promoted collaboration between JIC and SCU on Brassica rapa (mustard) genomics. A three day workshop was held at the University of the Southern Cross in Lismore, New South Wales in September 2018 which brought together research teams from JIC, SCU and CSIRO. This highly interactive meeting highlighted common and complementary areas of interest and provided the foundation for potential collaboration in current projects. In addiiton a number of research areas for future collaboration were highlighted. This reinforced research areas identified during joint meetings help at JIC and at INRA ( Caen) in 2017 when CSIRO and JIC partners had the opportunity to meet. A third workshop took place in Norwich in March 2019. Based on this workshop we developed a joint roadmap for how we could take our ideas forward. This roadmap was shared with BBSRC. |
Exploitation Route | This is work in progress but some joint experiments are planned and, while it is too early for anything to be submitted, future joint proposals are being actively discussed. |
