International Centre for Mathematical Sciences 2024

Lead Research Organisation: Heriot-Watt University
Department Name: S of Mathematical and Computer Sciences

Abstract

The International Centre for Mathematical Sciences (ICMS), Edinburgh, is a world-leading centre for facilitating the production and exchange of ideas in the mathematical sciences. Together with the Isaac Newton Institute (INI), it is a key part of the UK infrastructure that supports high-level research, innovation, international collaboration, career development, knowledge exchange, and public engagement. The main vehicle for achieving this is the hosting of workshops, collaborative research projects, and other supporting events at its facilities in Edinburgh and elsewhere in the UK. These activities will form the core of the work funded by the grant requested from EPSRC. The grant will support the participants travel and accommodation expenses and contribute to the costs of the administration, staff, equipment, and facilities of ICMS.
