Abstract
PACE, the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe, has the overall objective to prepare for a persistent pan-European HPC service, consisting of multiple centres. The European Commission has recently funded the PACE Consortium, the UK being represented by EPSRC, to undertake preparatory work for the creation of such a service. Through this project, EPCC at The University of Edinburgh, The University of Manchester and Daresbury Laboratory will undertake the UK's involvement in specific work packages within the EU-funded PACE project on behalf of the EPSRC.
