Description Aero-engine manufacturers are looking for new materials for the high pressure turbines of next generation aero-engines, known as the "beyond the Ni superalloys era". We have developed new alloys that are much closer to the property goals for toughness, oxidation and creep compared with previous generations of developmental alloys. A new methodology for designing ultra-high temperature alloys has been developed.
