The UK Theory of Condensed Matter Summer School
Lead Research Organisation:
University College London
Department Name: Physics and Astronomy
Abstract
The aim of this project is to continue and further develop the highly successful UK Theory of Condensed Matter Summer School, which plays an essential role in the training of UK graduate students in this area and in the general life of the UK condensed-matter physics community.
Planned Impact
Who will benefit from this research?
employers in a range of fields, both academic and commercial
society
How will they benefit from this research?
Students trained in a wide range of condensed matter disciplines and also made aware of a broader context of their research via courses on industrial applications and quantum technologies will be well placed to address open research problems including big challenges facing the society. At the same time they gain problem solving skills relevant for industry.
