Lead Research Organisation:
University College London
Department Name: Electronic and Electrical Engineering
Abstract
Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.

Title | Multistatic Hybrid Radar Model |
Description | This is a Python3 based application to model and analyse a hybrid multistatic radar system in contested environments. |
Type Of Material | Computer model/algorithm |
Year Produced | 2022 |
Provided To Others? | No |
Impact | Three journal papers have been written so far, based on this model and outcomes. |

Title | Radar Waveforms Database for classification |
Description | A dataset of radar waveforms transmitted from a FPGA RF system called the RFSoC developed by Xilinx. This dataset involves the transmit and reception of typical radar waveforms such as FMCW, Chirp LFM and phase coded waveforms such as Barker codes. The signals were varied in their Signal to Noise ratio, pulse length and chirp rate. The objective of this dataset was to create a input to a radar waveform classification algorithm. |
Type Of Material | Database/Collection of data |
Year Produced | 2020 |
Provided To Others? | No |
Impact | The impact of generating this dataset was that jointly UCL and Imperial College London were able to compare classification techniques on real radar data instead of a simulated representation of radar data. This resulted in improved classification techniques that include the effects of transmitting a signal with amplifiers and antennas. |

PI Contribution | The project investigators have kept the partner organisations informed of any meetings that take place that consist of academic and industrial partners presenting research relevant to the field of Electronic Warfare. The project investigators have repeatedly presented ongoing research activities to representatives from the mentioned partner organisations. The project investigators have taken into account advice given from the technical experts that attend the research project meetings when planning future research activities. |
Collaborator Contribution | The partner organisations have allowed personnel with the appropriate expertise to attend project meetings. The partner organisations have kept academic colleagues informed of the latest difficulties encountered and/or developments made in the field of Electronic Warfare. |
Impact | The partner organisations have informed the project investigators of specific signal types, signal parameter variations and signal analysis tools to consider in the research. Some of these recommendations were not considered in the publications/reports found when performing a literature review on the research topic. |
