Description | This was a scoping grant to explore potential research links in the UK in the general area of the deep Earth & mantle volatiles as applied to planet habitability. The grant was used to fund a workshop and several breakout meetings. The result/impact of the grant was a successful application to NERC (Mantle Volatiles: processes, reservoirs and fluxes; NE/M000303/1). Further to this, we have demonstrated that Fe and Zn isotopes can be used to trace the flux of sulfate released during slab dehydration to the overlying mantle wedge |
Exploitation Route | Further research through funded grant NE/M000303/1 |
