"Kinematical ages of polluted white dwarfs"

Abstract
Student will analyze spectroscopic data on metal-polluted white dwarfs, analyzing the chemical composition of the planetary debris accreted onto the stellar atmosphere. Student will undertake a detailed analysis of their kinematical ages, and place these remnant planetary systems into the larger context of Galactic history, its evolution and especially its changing chemistry over time.
