Design, Synthesis and Functional Studies of Autophagy Regulators Towards Drug Discovery

Lead Research Organisation: University of Nottingham
Department Name: Sch of Chemistry

Abstract

There are two possible lab rotations. (1) to provide experience in the chemical synthesis and handling of peptide mimetic compounds. This will involve laboratory syntheis and characterisation of a range of molecules. (2) to develop experience in studying the binding of small molecules to bio-macromolecules. This will involve a range of techniques such as NMR spectroscopy, CD spectroscopy as well as computational modelling studies.
