An investigation into Supernova Progenitors

Abstract
In the last decade the "Supernova Zoo" has exploded, yet despite the identification of over 10 different supernova classifications, direct observational evidence of only two progenitor systems have been confirmed. This thesis will focus on the likely (but unconfirmed) progenitors of two supernova subtypes, identifying such systems in nearby galaxies as well as investigating their host environments.
