Abstract

The aim of the research is to study single-top quark production at 13 TeV centre of mass energy using data from proton-proton collisions collected by the CMS detector at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. Rare standard model processes, such as tqZ and possible deviations, arising from processes such as Flavour Changing Neutral Currents, will be considered. Contributions to the operation of the detector; in particular components such as the electromagnetic calorimeter or silicon tracker, will also form part of the research topic.

To work on activities related to the upgrade of the current CMS detector and to study the physics of the top quark in both Standard Model and Beyond the Standard Model scenarios using CMS data from Run II. Will also have the opportunity to contribute to performance studies related to the current detector.
