Abstract
My project is focused on the variability of stellar sources. I am currently using the GAIA DR1 and 2MASS data sets to search for eruptive variables, specifically FU Orionis. In conjunction I am also using UKIRT photometric data in the J, H and K bands of white dwarfs which was taken over multiple epochs to search for infrared variability around the white dwarfs. This could help to identify how 30% of white dwarfs become polluted with metals. Long term, I will continue to search for and try to understand the variability of white dwarfs in both optical and near-infrared wavelengths.
