Training macrophages to resolve IBD

Abstract
The focus of this project is to define factors that are important in training the function of gut macrophages at homeostasis and during inflammation. It is hoped that these factors can ultimately be employed to alter disease outcome in states where gut inflammation is aberrant, such as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). In particular, we will utilize well-established murine models of gut inflammation to mechanistically understand how candidate factors impact macrophage function, particularly during the resolution phase of inflammation.
