Controlling excited states to study and optimise photoresponsive bioconjugates
Lead Research Organisation:
University College London
Department Name: Chemistry
Abstract
The project will involve the development of new methods to design, construct and study photoactive protein-conjugates. Such bioconjugates have the potential to afford exquisite control over biological systems, and prospectively as targeted therapeutics which can be triggered by light. The student will gain expertise in organic synthesis, bioconjugation and the use of ultrafast lasers.
