Abstract
Mindfulness training, whilst still a relatively new phenomenon, is entering mainstream society from a previously medical setting and with its expansion comes an increased demand for highly qualified mindfulness teachers. However, mindfulness education and training remains mostly unstudied. The proposed project aims to address this research gap by analysing the social and pedagogical aspects of mindfulness training from both a macro and a micro-level discourse analysis perspective. The research would provide much needed social science groundwork into the pedagogy of mindfulness education and a direct impact of this study could be the provision of an empirical base which would inform teacher training.
