Longitudinal time series analysis of speech in those with cognitive degeneration
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Bristol
Department Name: Computer Science
Abstract
Those with degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and other dementias exhibit many notable signals as the disease progresses. We wish to create new innovative models for time series analysis that can be applied to extract higher level features from speech such as sentiment, coherence, and relative cognitive function over long periods. The application will be useful for continual monitoring systems in the absence of a trained professional whose assessments are typically extensive and difficult.
