Results and Impact | Star-Wars themed event showcasing links between technology and phenomena in Star Wars universe and research undertaken by Accelerator Group at University of Liverpool. For Plasma Wakefield Acceleration, computer terminals with custom designed software, 'Surfatron' allowed school students to conduct real-time hands-on simulations of a particle 'riding' a plasma wave, seeing the effect of changing wave parameters on acceleration efficiency. Students recieve a score based on performance of their accelerator and high scores recorded over the day. |
