Abstract
Goal 8 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development calls for 'full and productive employment and decent work for all' within the next 12 years. However, this ambitious exercise remains a bit of a black box, reflecting what some have referred to as the 'jobs dementia' of development policy. Through the application of primarily qualitative research, the aim of this study is to help fill in some of the blanks by shedding light on the political mechanics of 'decent work' creation and distribution.
