"Play as a gateway (or hindrance) for opportunity - what does it matter to disabled pupils, parents and teachers?
It is intended that the PhD will examine the meaning of play for primary school aged children who have a disability.
This includes:
The extent to which play is freely chosen, the influence of structure of play;
The impact of free-choice and structure in play on learning opportunities;
The contribution of culture, creativity and imagination in play;
The direction of play and inclusion/exclusion.
