Hybrid spin-photon quantum networks

Abstract

This is a PhD research project in experimental Physics, and specifically in experimental photonic quantum information processing. Our lab specializes in creating medium-scale cluster states, i.e. entangled states of multiple photons, at telecommunication wavelengths. Chris' project will be to interface these photons with single photons created at a different wavelength from InGaAs quantum dots in Brian Gerardot's lab. The eventual goal will be to create a hybrid quantum network of flying photonic and solid-state spin-photon quantum bits for quantum networking.
