Modular Design of Functional Materials
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Glasgow
Department Name: School of Chemistry
Abstract
The PhD scholar will exploit a timely opportunity to implement new methodologiesdeveloped in Miras group to tailor electronic and catalytic properties of molecular and 2D materials using directed self-assembly approaches for accessing a host of artificial heterostructures with potential applications ranging from electronic devices to hydrogen evolution catalysts. This research incorporates aspects from across chemistry, involving synthesis, characterization and analysis. Opportunities will also be available for travel to national and international conferences to present research results as well opportunities to cross the disciplinary boundaries by working together with physicists and engineers.
