The Influence of Fuel Properties and Injection Strategies on Advanced Turbulent Jet Ignition
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Nottingham
Department Name: Faculty of Engineering
Abstract
The overall goal is to improve understanding of the optimum fuels and fuelling strategies for turbulent jet ignition in future hybrid passenger cars. The work will involve a direct comparison between passive and active jet ignition when operating at optimised dilution ratios with gasoline, natural gas and ethanol blends. The potential benefits of dual fuel operation will also be considered during active jet ignition.
