Abstract

Investigating the properties of drying films. Ingredients such as polymers, particles and surfactants are used in many personal care products (e.g. skin creams, lip-stick, sunscreen) to deliver superior benefits. These materials are deposited on skin from a variety of different solvents, but the drying process which is critical for optimal film function is still poorlyunderstood. This proposal is aimed at an improved understanding of drying of product films on skin, and its effect on film structure and functional properties.
