Levitated nanodiamond towards testing the most macroscopic quantum superposition

Nitrogen vacancy centres in diamond are useful for quantum technologies including magnetometry, quantum computing and quantum communication. In addition, they may in future be used to test the macroscopic limits of quantum mechanics as part of the program called "Quantum Technology for Fundamental Physics". Here we aim to build an experiment to test if a nanodiamond can be in a spatial superposition. Companies involved include Element Six. Collaborators include Oliver Williams in Cardiff and Sougato Bose in UCL.
