Electron deficient photosensitisers for multifunctional interfaces

Lead Research Organisation: University of Nottingham
Department Name: Sch of Chemistry

Abstract

Many exchanges of energy and electrons take place at interfaces, and the nature of the organic molecules present at the interfaces determine the degree and type of process that take place. The project involves the synthesis of electron accepting aromatic compounds that will be used to generate and transport charge in organic solar cells and will be applied to the formation of reactive oxygen species in materials for a number of therapeutical treatments.
