New in vitro models to investigate the role of actin cytoskeleton in the development and function of the nervous system
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Nottingham
Department Name: Sch of Biosciences
Abstract
The project will investigate the role of cytoskeleton in the development of mouse primary neurons. It will initially focus on regulators of actin dynamics and the role they have in the axon growth cone, including formins and spire, using both molecular and cell biology techniques. In addition the project will explore the interaction of neurons and glia and how astrocytes might be part of the complex interactions regulating these processes.
