Coupling Primary and Secondary Manufacturing via Digital Design of Crystalline Materials
Lead Research Organisation:

Abstract
The crystalline structure of an API dictates its chemical and mechanical properties and therefore it strongly influences what manufacturing strategy (e.g. direct compression, wet granulation, etc.) is required to convert a drug substance to a final drug product. This project will exploit digital design tools to develop a crystallisation classification system to indicate which manufacturing strategy is appropriate for a given API from its crystal structure.
