Developing chemistries for collection and analysis of wound fluid

Lead Research Organisation: University of Birmingham
Department Name: School of Chemistry

Abstract

The PhD project will be focused on developing chemistries for collection of wound fluid (exudate) samples such that the information on the spatial distribution of analytes is preserved. Exudate will be collected from cell-based models for healthy and infected wounds in the first instance. The samples will be analysed using molecular techniques including mass spectrometry and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.
