Department Name: Pharmacology
Abstract
Field: Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
DPhil project will focus on the pathogenesis of TBI and the role of extracellular vesicles, including the potential to use the EV mechanisms to attain therapeutic endpoints. The goal is to identify and characterize different subgroups of EVs and determine the effect on the pathogenesis, because a better understanding of this novel concept might lead to the improved clinical outcomes after a TBI.
