Creation of a general learning framework to teach a medical robot to perform various surgical tasks
Lead Research Organisation:
Imperial College London
Department Name: Computing
Abstract
The project aims are:
1. How can we creating a robot to handle basic but arbitrary surgical tasks?
2. Can we create a general learning framework which one can adapt to teach a medical robot
to perform various surgical tasks.
3. Is it possible to adapt a currently existing robot to perform these surgical tasks or is it
necessary to build bespoke robots for different surgical categories or a "One size fits all"
robot.
Research area: computer vision/medical robotics
