Abstract
There is an urgent need to determine the impacts of artificial light at night (ALAN) on invertebrate animals in aquatic environments. This project addresses this knowledge gap by investigating the effects of ALAN on the behaviour, and differential expression of clock-controlled genes in key ecological invertebrates representing marine and freshwater environments. In doing so, we aim to address the following question:
Does 'ALAN' impact circadian clock function and associated rhythms in behaviour and gene expression in marine and freshwater crustaceans?
Does 'ALAN' impact circadian clock function and associated rhythms in behaviour and gene expression in marine and freshwater crustaceans?
