Abstract
Can restorative justice create a principle for and process of restorative climate justice applicable to adaptation needs of communities affected by deglaciation?
This project will explore the specific issue of the human impacts of glacier shrinkage within
the context of legal responses to climate change and the rich and developing tradition of
restorative justice. Its interdisciplinary approach, combining law and criminology, sociology
and geography, is ground-breaking, having little or no precedent in past projects. It provides
a unique and exciting opportunity to root conceptual development in a practical and
participatory case study.
