Description To inform new ways of delivering alcohol treatment in healthcare services in the UK, especially when cost-effective and online delivery of treatments is needed, which can be facilitated by the use of VRT. The services co-operated with during the research studies were interested in integrating this type of therapy in their treatment programmes, especially for alcohol relapse prevention, as VRT offers therapeutic approaches that cannot currently be provided by other forms of treatment. Further funding and larger clinical trials are needed to promote its integration, though.
