Department Name: Economics
Abstract
I intend to research the impacts of societal change and development on the family unit, focusing primarily on women. The specific changes I am interested in investigating could be related to migration, the expansion of education or other more specific policies. The impact of such changes on the allocation of labour and consumption in the family unit are important as this affects not only individual well-being, but also equality within the family and equality across genders within the community.
