Searching for Heavy Neutral Leptons with the SBN Detectors
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Manchester
Department Name: Physics and Astronomy
Abstract
Heavy Neutral Leptons (HNL) are hypothetical particles that can be produced in the high-intensity neutrino beams of the Fermilab Short-baseline facility. The project will make use of the MicroBooNE data to search for HNsL in their decay modes to electrons and/or muons. To increase the efficiency for signal and to reduce background, advanced learning techniques will be applied to the data. The experience with the MicroBooNE data will allow us to make sensitivity predictions for the SBND detector currently under construction.
