Computational analysis of localised ignition in single and multiphase combustible mixtures Details of Project Plan including key milestones Please at

Lead Research Organisation: Newcastle University
Department Name: Sch of Engineering

Abstract

This project aims to study the ignition and subsequent propagation of premixed methane-air mixtures utilising DNS for both single phase and multi-phase flows. The project will initially focus on the ignition aspect in an attempt to address gaps in the existing literature and confirm earlier findings. It must be noted that the DNS simulations will initially be carried out for simplified chemistry, before progressing to detailed chemistry simulations with the same parameters.
