Period Stories: Menstruation in Advertising, Sex Education and Girls' Personal Narratives.

Lead Research Organisation: University of Bristol
Department Name: Sch for Policy Studies

Abstract

RSE could potentially tackle stigmatising menstruation discourses. However, there is no contemporary research regarding menstruation discourses in advertising and formal RSE and how girls position themselves in regards to these discourses. This collaborative and novel project will provide recommendations to policy-makers and professionals about delivering RSE to tackle menstruation stigma and respond to discourses in contemporary advertising.
