Biofouling in Washing Machines
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Nottingham
Department Name: Sch of Pharmacy
Abstract
Hypothesis: Microenvironment modulation within biofilms can be exploited to detect the release of antimicrobials to inform the design of novel biofilm dispersion technology for washing machines to reduce biofouling and remove potential reservoirs of infection.
Aim: To inform the design of biomaterials by using nanosensors to detect biofilm microniche fluctuations triggered by antimicrobial dispersion.
