ETCS-3 simulation and testing

Abstract
Evaluate the ETCS-3 system architecture, albeit where there is no standardised ETCS-3 specification. The simulation and testing architecture and methods will be proposed and validated using the railway simulation and testing environment at the University of Birmingham. The following research questions are to be addressed during the PhD project:
- How to model and simulate ETCS-3?
- What are the appropriate evaluation criterion?
- How to generate appropriate testing cases for ETCS-3?
- How to evaluate the coverage of generated testing cases?
- How to generate the benchmarking testing scenarios?
- How to utilise automatic system testing towards zero-on-site testing?
