Recovering symmetry from images and objects under generic view conditions.

My series of experiments will provide the first exhaustive account of the conditions for
view invariance in symmetry perception. Therefore, I will be able to shed new light on how
symmetry is processed by the human visual system, and how an object-based, view invariant
representation is achieved. As symmetry is a key aspect of form processing, the findings are central
to understanding vision.
