Abstract

The thesis is primarily focused towards the improvement and scale up of the current carbon nanotube synthesis method via Chemical Vapor Deposition. While also investigating more obscure untapped carbon feed-stocks to be utilized in CNT production.

Thesis objectives and plan (with potential to change):

1. Closed-loop chemical recycling:
a. design and implementation
b. introduction of a Gas scrubber

2.Scale-up
a. Assist with scale-up calculations and design when required

Carbon sources
a. CNTs from non-conventional carbon sources e.g. Food waste, Rubber

This Project will be achieve through a combination of lab work and relevant software such as COMSOL etc..
