Adipocyte autophagy in chronic inflammatory disease

Lead Research Organisation: University of Oxford
Department Name: Kennedy Institute

Abstract

The project will study how autophagy in adipose tissue affects immune cells and thereby contributes to comorbidities related to obesity. This interdisciplinary scientific question will be addressed through implementation of a variety of different experimental techniques, including in vivo disease modelling, functional assays, generation and analysis of omics data, and complex statistical analysis. Throughout this studentship, I will aim to develop not only technical skills but also invaluable management and communication skills, including independence, perseverance, time and people management, as well as presentation and writing skills.
