Incorporating Chiral Cations into Transition Metal Catalysis
Lead Research Organisation:

Department Name: Chemistry
Abstract
Chiral cations have been used extensively as organocatalysts but it is very rare for them to be used as chiral controller for versatile and reactive transition metals, despite the obvious potential. This project uses anionic ligands to incorporate chiral cations into various mainstream transition metal catalysed processes that are difficult to render chiral through conventional means. We plan to investigate a range of processes and assess the broader viability of this strategy.
