Hybrid plasma wakefield acceleration and injection
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Strathclyde
Department Name: Physics
Abstract
The PhD will develop hybrid plasma accelerators, combining the best of laser-driven plasma wakefield accelerators and injectors, with particle beam driven plasma wakefield accelerators and injectors. This development of the next generation of plasma accelerators, including the Trojan Horse plasma photocathode injection mechanism, will push towards the generation of ultraintense and ultrabright particle and photon pulses for applications including photon science, material, and life sciences, and high energy physics.
