Multivalent display of antigens via site selective enzymatic modification

Lead Research Organisation: University of Leeds
Department Name: Sch of Chemistry

Abstract

A major question in vaccine development is the significance of heterogeneity in conjugate vaccine development. In this project, the student will develop a variety of chemoenzymatic strategies to synthesize homogenous site-specifically labelled multimeric proteins with defined labelling stoichiometry. These will then be adapted for application to conjugate model antigens. The effect of site-specific conjugation in defined stoichiometry to random labelling will then be evaluated.
