Sexual and reproductive health in humanitarian contexts: access to abortion related care among refugee girls

Lead Research Organisation: London School of Economics and Political Science
Department Name: Social Policy

Abstract

Rosanna's research proposal focuses on the sexual and reproductive (SRH) health of displaced girls in protracted humanitarian contexts. Displacement is a major driver of rising humanitarian needs and protracted contexts are increasingly the norm. Adolescents and youths face specific challenges in realising their SRH rights in humanitarian contexts, despite international policy, programmatic and legal frameworks. This research uses mixed methods to contribute to the evidence gap around SRH needs and experiences of displaced young people in protracted contexts, with a focus on girls and abortion related care.
