AI applications of neuromorphic memristors
Lead Research Organisation:
University College London
Department Name: Electronic and Electrical Engineering
Abstract
The project will study the electrical and optical response of silicon oxide memristors through a programme of experimental characterisation and modelling. The project will seek to address the question of how these properties can best be controlled (through a combination of device design and control of programming parameters) to optimise their use in neuromorphic artificial intelligence systems. The project will combine device fabrication in the LCN cleanrooms with electrical and optical characterisation using the facilities of the EEE nanotechnology laboratory, and will further develop some of the neuromorphic circuit and systems models already in use by the research group.
